The American Shakespeare Center's Education Department offers a variety of internships through the summer and the academic year. An excellent opportunity for those interested in pursuing a career in teaching or higher education, Education Internships bring you behind the scenes into the scholarship of the American Shakespeare Center.

Overview: Intern will assist with both on- and off-site workshops, as well as aiding in the preparation of materials for education events.

Overview: Assist in the creation and maintenance of the American Shakespeare Center’s resources for educators, including Study Guides, Workshops, and classroom scripts.

This is an unpaid internship.
This internship involves but is not limited to the following: create an annotated bibliography of references to the Blackfriars and the Globe, research pertinent architectural/structural questions for Globe II, facilitate communication between research team members.

Internship Supervisor: Jennifer Darby, Education and Group Sales Manager
Overview: The Education and Group Sales Internship with the American Shakespeare Center is an opportunity for early career arts administrators to develop their abilities while learning skills necessary to succeed. This internship offers the chance to learn to coordinate a variety of arts educational programming in a renowned and nationally respected theater.
Duties will include:
The preferred candidate has at least 1 year of college experience who, if not already graduated, is currently studying Education, Theater, Arts Administration or a related field. Ideal candidates possess the following skills: organized, efficient, accommodating to change, excellent interpersonal skills, personable and able to multi-task. Computer skills: Microsoft Office (such as MS Excel, MS Word and MS Outlook) as well as Internet research skills.

Internship Supervisor: Director of College Prep Programs
Overview: Assist in the creation of American Shakespeare Center’s resources for campers, including packets on each play in the Summer Camp season. Attend rehearsals as text coach. Work with Directors to cut texts to one-hour, paying special attention to maintaining continuity.
Specific duties include:
Hours are flexible in Spring, must commit to afternoon rehearsals during Summer Camp sessions (Session 1: June 15-July 8, 2013; Session 2: July 13-August 5, 2013).
