Internship: PRODUCTION ASSISTANT

Credit Hours: 3 per production
Time per week: up to 48 hours per week

This is an unpaid internship. We will offer up to two Production Assistant positions per show.

Application Deadline: For Summer, Fall, and Touring shows, 1 April. For Actors' Renaissance Season shows, 30 September.

Interns must be available for the entire rehearsal process and will have an opportunity to meet with the assistant director or and/director to discuss the goals of the production. The internship involves but is not limited to the following responsibilities: to create and maintain the prompt script, assist the stage manager with the creation of the rehearsal schedule, arrive at the Blackfriars a minimum of 15 minutes prior to call, set up the rehearsal room, stage, and/or backstage as necessary for rehearsals and performances, open and close the house, call the cast during rehearsals and performances, create the Stage Management Report for each performance, fill out additional paperwork as in necessary (i.e. workers compensation forms, etc..), break down the set and backstage as is necessary after a rehearsal or performance.

The timeframe of this internship is dependent on the production. A typical ASC rehearsal schedule is 6 days a week between the hours of 10a and 7p. The ASC expects a commitment of 90 hours in total for any one internship.
