"This spring break I spent one of the best weeks ever with my fellow theatre majors and professors. I got to act on a professional stage, watch professional actors rehearse and perform, sharpen my talents, and learn just how much I really love Shakespearean theatre." -- March 2013 Little Academe Participant
Bring your students to the Blackfriars Playhouse to see the process, enjoy the shows, and work with the actors and scholars. Your students will get a course in a few days that they couldn't get elsewhere in a month.
The cost to your students for up to 5 plays, workshops, rehearsal passes, classroom pace, and lodging in downtown Staunton will be less than any other theatre trip you might plan. Those instructors bringing 15 students or more are eligible for special incentives. View our full Workshop Menu to find out more about our educational offerings.
"The chatter on the train back from Staunton was all about you and Shakespeare and the actors and what they want to do when they get back - change their majors, go to more plays, go to graduate school."
-Visiting Professor Terri Bourus

"This may have been the most successful trip I've ever taken with students. They were so ecstatic. The Monday after we returned, I had them report their experiences to their fellow students, and I wish you could have seen their enthusiasm. They talked over one another trying to explain all the things they'd learned and all the things they'd loved. Their enthusiasm was wonderful, and I can't thank you folks enough for that." -- Sheila Morton, Tusculum College, February 2012 Little Academe participant
