Box Office Sales. You can get tickets for regular ASC performances at the Playhouse box office Monday through Saturday 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (closed Christmas Day and open New Year's Day 12-5):
Online Sales. In addition, you can buy tickets online 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Note: Special discounts, coupons, and promotions can only be applied over the phone or in person. Please come by or call the box office at 1-877-MUCH-ADO to use any of these.
Once you reserve your tickets, we can either hold them for you at our box office will call desk -- which we recommend -- or we can send them to you by postal mail for a shipping and handling fee of $1.00 per order.
At the Blackfriars Playhouse, you experience Shakespeare's plays as audiences did four centuries ago, but with modern creature comforts thrown in. Choose from three levels of seating:
Lords' Chairs, with finely carved wooden arm-rests, brocade cushions, and leather seatbacks;
Section A has two types of seats:
General Admission, unreserved benches that offer economical first-come, first-served seating with brocade cushions but without seatbacks
Every seat offers a unique way to see and hear both the play and your fellow playgoers.

We sell refreshments from the stage before the show and at intermission. As the Elizabethans did in their day, you can enjoy them in the theatre!
All tickets are non-refundable, but can be exchanged to another performance with 48 hours notice and a $2.00 fee per ticket. Any tickets received at the box office before the performance may also qualify as a tax-deductible donation.
We offer ticket discounts for Groups of 15 or more, AAA members, seniors 65 and over, students, School Matinees, and children ages seven to twelve (please see our age appropriateness guide). A limited number of $11 student rush tickets are also available one hour before each performance. Ticket discounts and special offers are not available online. Please call the Box Office at 1.877.MUCH.ADO.
The American Shakespeare Center offers Pay-what-you-will performances as a service to our community. Any performance on our calendar marked PWYW offers you two options to attend. You may arrive at the PWYW performance and take any seat that is not already reserved. Patrons in these unreserved seats are invited to make a donation, or pay what they will, at the conclusion of the show. Or, if you prefer, you may reserve a seat in advance at our regular ticket prices to guarantee yourself a spot in the audience. Please note that our PWYW shows are very popular and that unless you reserve in advance, we cannot guarantee you a seat. PWYW seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis, so if you would like to take advantage of this offer, we encourage you to come early for best chances of finding a seat.
Wheelchair seating and hearing enhancement devices are available. Please make the Box Office aware of your special needs when ordering. Cameras and tape recorders are strictly forbidden in the Playhouse during a performance. Performances, artists, dates, and times are subject to change without notice.
Because the audience is so much a part of our shows and because we care for all our patrons, the American Shakespeare Center does not admit children six and under (including babes-in-arms) to our performances except where explicitly noted. And while we do welcome children aged seven and older, a maximum of four youth tickets may be purchased for each adult ticket purchased.
For more information about the age appropriateness of a specific production, please refer to our Age Appropriateness Guide.
