Symmonie Preston holds an M.F.A in Staging Shakespeare from the University of Exeter, England. She received her B.F.A. in Theatre Arts from Illinois Wesleyan University’s School of Theatre Arts. She was a co-founder of the Behemoth Theatre Company in 2006 and served as their artistic director until 2011. She is a playwright and authored the acclaimed children’s play The Legend of Little Bad: Not Her Father’s Fairytale. She is the first person to receive the honor of the Douglas Fairbanks, Jr. Scholarship award from the Society of American Fight Directors.

As Director of College Prep Programs here at the ASC she is the artistic director and curriculum coordinator for the ASC Theatre Camp. Additionally, she can work with your organization to tailor Educational Residencies to fit your individual needs and educational goals. She is thrilled to be able to work with the talented students and teachers that grace our Playhouse every week and looks forward to working with you soon.
