The Phoenix Society (Legacy Giving)

Share your passion for the American Shakespeare Center, and our mission of making accessible to all the joys of his language and theatre, by providing a lasting legacy for generations to come: a planned gift.

Keep an eye on this page for the official launch of The Phoenix Society; until then, here are a few of the options available to you:

The simplest way to provide for the future of the American Shakespeare Center is to make a bequest in your will. Your bequest language might look like this:

“I, [name], of [city, state, zip], give, devise and bequeath to the American Shakespeare Center in Staunton, VA [specific amount or percentage of the estate or property] for its unrestricted use and purpose." You can also consider a residual bequest, which comes to us after estate expenses and specific bequests are paid, like so:

"I give and devise to the American Shakespeare Center in Staunton, VA all [or state a percentage] of the rest, residue and remainder of my estate, both real and personal, to be used for its unrestricted use and purpose."
