As a working theatre partnered with an accredited university, the American Shakespeare Center is as much a laboratory and a locus for learning as it is an entertainment venue. The ASC opens its doors to scholars interested in learning more about Shakespeare, his stage, and performance through a comprehensive biennial conference, our 25+ years of archived performance records, our partnership with institutions of higher learning, and our innovative study of Shakespeare in performance. Standouts in the collection include rhetorical analysis, methods for teaching, architectural insights, and rehearsal materials such as scanned texts, cue scripts collected from our remarkable Actors' Renaissance Season, and production stills and video.
