Stipended Long-Term Literary Internship

STIPENDED LONG-TERM LITERARY INTERNSHIP

A literary internship at the ASC is an ideal position for someone who is passionate about both new works and the works of William Shakespeare. The intern will assist in the submission and selection process for Shakespeare’s New Contemporaries through application review, file management, and script reading and reporting (More info on Shakespeare’s New Contemporaries here). They will also provide broad based dramaturgical support to ASC’s productions through project specific research, actor packet creation, and some light rehearsal support.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in theater history, especially Shakespeare; an active interest and involvement in contemporary theater; excellent reading comprehension and research techniques; good organizational skills and a keen eye for details; curiosity and a sense of humor.

Internship Term:
Jan 8 - Sept 30
April 2 - Dec 19

Stipend
$500/month, housing assistance may be available though is not guaranteed.

Application
In addition to the Letter of Intent and Resume that are required of all ASC intern applicants, please also submit a writing sample (reader report, program note, critical response, or script analysis; no more than 3 pages). Applications Due: November 20, 2017
