ANNUAL BENEFIT CELEBRATION

Join us for an evening of merriment to celebrate the 15th Anniversary of the Blackfriars Playhouse and commemorate Shakespeare’s Legacy Year. 

Sip champagne at the playhouse as our Summer/Fall Troupe sends up the Shakespeare authorship debate in a one night only performance: 
Shakespeare on Trial!

You be the jury in Shakespeare’s trial, presided over by Guest Judge John Avoli...who can be bribed! 

Cheer for our 2016 Burbage and Goodfellow Awardees.

Enjoy a gourmet three course meal and fine wine at the Stonewall Jackson Hotel next door , followed by music and dancing.

2016 Honorees
Thomas K. McLaughlin Jr., the Architect of the Blackfriars Playhouse will receive the Robin Goodfellow Award (posthumously), honoring a person whose contributions to the ASC have been fundamental to the mission of making the joys of Shakespeare accessible to all.
Tim Carroll, Artistic Director of the Shaw Festival will receive the Burbage Award, Honoring a person whose career has significantly advanced the love of Shakespeare’s work through the public production of his plays.
