NO KIDDING SHAKESPEARE CAMP

After years of hearing from teachers and other adult Shakespeare lovers that they would like a ASCTC-like experience, the ASC Education Department is giving our public what they want. In a week long Shakespeare Summer Camp, adults will stay in dorms at Mary Baldwin College, work with master teachers and lecturers in the Blackfriars Playhouse, and explore the intricacies of Shakespeare's theatrical world.

The camp is well-suited to both teachers (and can receive credit for inservice hours) and parents ofASCTC campers, enthusiastic audience members, or former UVA Summer on the Lawn participants. Participants will hear lectures, see plays, participate in workshops and master classes, and, work on scenes with their partners throughout the week.

    THE PLAYHOUSE INSIDER

The Playhouse Insider is a new publication by the ASC, which will come out twice yearly, in the winter to preview the Actors' Renaissance and Spring Seasons, and in the summer to preview the Summer and Fall Seasons and ASC on Tour. Our goal for this magazine is to provide the readers with a look into different experiences of early modern theatre at the Blackfriars Playhouse. We've solicited articles from ASC actors and artists, from renowned scholars, and from members of the ASC community, and as a result this first issue has much quality material to offer.

    ROAD SCHOLAR PROGRAM
