The Fall of King Henry
Jenny Bennett is a fourth-generation theatre woman. Her ASC credits include: King Lear and The Winter's Tale. Other directing credits include: Henry V (off-Broadway), Madwoman of Chaillot Salon, both with the Classical Theatre of Harlem, where she is an Artistic Associate and Interim General Manager; and The Comedy of Errors and Much Ado About Nothing, both for Purchase Repertory Theatre.
In Kaohsiung, Taiwan, Jenny founded a theatre company and collaborated with international artists for seven years. Taiwan directing includes Macbeth; Dangerous Liaisons/ Weixian Guanxi; Romeo & Juliet; Into the Woods; As You Like It!; Godspell; Arcadia; The Lady's Not For Burning; Fuddy Meers; Picasso at the Lapin Agile; and The Threepenny Opera.
Her writing includes The Green, produced at Milk Can in NYC in 2012; book & lyrics for As You Like It!; lyrics for TYA musical Flying Fables.
She earned her BA in Drama from the University of Virginia, and her MFA from the PTTP at the University of Delaware. This year, she was an SDCF Kurt Weill Fellow with Tazewell Thompson on WNO’s Lost in the Stars at the Kennedy Center. Jenny is a member of the Lincoln Center Theater Directors Lab. @bennyjennett
